After being driven into an unknown part of the world’s oceans, Sanji tells his friend Luffy the terrible news that there are no more food supplies on board. Fortunately, salvation is found on a nearby uninhabited island where meat literally grows on trees. But the island is not entirely deserted after all, for they soon meet the gourmet hunter Toriko. After munching their way through a herd of barbecued wild boars, the Straw Hats get back to work replenishing their supplies. But Toriko has the perfect solution for this: together, they hunt down the legendary Hungri-la bird. But when Nami and Komatsu are kidnapped by Cocoalas, (almost) nobody thinks about food anymore …

Nachdem sie in einen unbekannten Teil der Weltmeere getrieben werden, teilt Sanji seinem Freund Luffy die schreckliche Nachricht mit, dass sich keine Nahrungsvorräte mehr an Bord befinden. Zum Glück findet sich auf einer nahegelegenen, unbewohnten Insel, wo Fleisch wortwörtlich auf den Bäumen wächst, die Rettung. Doch die Insel ist doch nicht ganz verlassen, denn bald treffen sie auf den Gourmet Hunter Toriko. Nachdem sie sich ihren Weg durch eine Herde gegrillter Wildschweine gemampft haben, machen sich die Strohhüte wieder an die Arbeit, um ihre Vorräte aufzufüllen. Doch Toriko hat dafür die perfekte Lösung: Sie erlegen zusammen den legendären Hungri-la Vogel. Als jedoch Nami und Komatsu von Cocoalas entführt werden, denkt (fast) niemand mehr ans Essen …
