Hot August Night Special!
1969 FireBird 400 $11000 Price Drop!

This is a 1969 FireBird 400 project car. A lot has been done for this car, but a lot still needs to be done.

The Good:
The car comes with a running Pontiac 400 engine. I doubt it is the original motor but the block markings indicate is a FireBird 330hp 400. I did not build it so I don’t know what is inside. It has an Edelbrock high rise intake manifold and a new Holley 780 carburetor. It has Hedman headers and the camshaft sounds fairly extreme. It currently has a Turbo 400 transmission with the OEM shifter and center console.

The car originally must have been a 4 speed because it still has the clutch pedal. If you want to do the conversion, I have a Muncie M20 and Pontiac bell housing for an extra $1000.

The fuel system has been replaced, new fuel tank, new fuel lines. It has a complete new American Auto wire wiring harness that is mostly installed. It has a new starter, and battery. It has a new dash and dash pad. Dash gauges have been replaced with good used.

The interior needs door panels and a headliner. (I have the headliner) It has new front kick plates with speakers installed. It has rear speakers, and needs the rear deck cover. The rear kick plates are in good condition. I have the window cranks. There is carpet but it is old and showing its age.

It has grey velour front seats in good shape. I have seat covers on them to protect them. The rear lower seat is in pretty good shape, the upper needs recovering. It has all the seat belts.

The trim tag indicates it was originally Limelight Green with Green interior. However, when I got it, it was red with black interior. At this point you can paint it whatever color you wish.
It has all the glass in decent shape. It has wiper blades and the wiper transmission, and a new wiper motor. The car has been re-keyed.

The previous owner started a front disk brakes conversion which has now been finished. The rear drums are in good condition. It has nice 14” Pontiac Rally wheels with chrome trim rings. The tires have good tread. It has a 10-bolt differential with 4.11 gears. It has traction bars. And I believe it is a limited slip.

There was some surface rust but no rot. I have sanded out the surface rust and have primed it. There appears to be some bondo on the rear deck and tail light panel, and possibly the hood. The body is in good condition except for a dent in the driver side quarter panel. It is probably easier to replace the quarter panel. It needs a driver’s side floor plan. The floor pan is useable, though. It has a new front valance. Trunk is good. But will need the front parking lamps to be driveable.
It has a clean Nevada title.

The Bad:
The brakes are still a little bit soft. There is an antifreeze leak at the intake manifold. Something is not aligned correctly. It has suddenly developed a leak underneath the car. It looks like it is the transmission coolant lines at the transmission. But it could also be the oil pan. This is the reason for the price drop. I no longer have the ability to crawl under the car to fix things. The carburetor is running very rich and so it will foul the plugs after a while. Unfortunately, I don’t know enough about carburetors to adjust it correctly.

Car will need to be trailered.

It is still a decent car and well worth what I am asking for it.

Don’t waste my time if you are not serious. I do not reply to canned responses. Lowball offers will be met with laughter and derision.

Trolls, and Scammers will be reported and blocked. No, I won’t buy your stupid vin report! No codes, no payments, no holds without cash up front. If the ad is up, its available.

Cash or certified check only.

At this point since I am not getting enough to trade up, I am not interested in any trades. (Unless someone is crazy enough to trade straight across for a fully functional, rust free 60’s GTO, Chevelle, FireBird or Camaro, coupe or convertible!) I certainly do not want a boat, a truck or a motorcycle!
